I am an Associated Provider. I am providing professional services

It takes a community to support the various needs of those affected by neuromuscular disease throughout their patient journey- from recognizing early symptoms during the pre-diagnosis stage, to providing compassionate support during the advanced stages. MDA recognizes the importance of specialists in meeting the educational, medical, community support and other needs of individuals and families affected by neuromuscular disease. MDA also recognizes the importance of expanding these networks and connections deeper into communities, reaching more individuals who may not have existing access to MDA programs and services, and reaching into underserved communities.

MDA’s Associated Provider Network (APN) is a network of specialists across the community who are providing various aspects of support, care, and other professional services, to those affected by neuromuscular disease. Such specialists may include, but is not limited to, the following:

Medical Providers who are not associated with an MDA Care Center

  • Neurologists
  • Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Groups
  • Providers administering, or in interested in administering, Gene Therapies

School and Educational System Specialists

  • Intermediate and/or Adaptive School Programs
  • School PT, OT, nurses
  • Teachers
  • Social Workers

MDA’s Associated Provider Network seeks to formalize these networks of support to strengthen awareness, education and access throughout neuromuscular communities.

The goal of MDA’s Associated Provider Network is to provide community specialists and providers with the tools and information they need to recognize signs of disease onset and progression, thereby increasing timely and accurate diagnoses, provide information and resources to sufficiently support the individuals you are working with who are affected by neuromuscular disease, and provide opportunities for engagement with the larger neuromuscular community.
